Kidney Dialysis Center Project
KDC Trichur Inaugurated
Kuwait: Kuwait Kerala Muslim Association (KKMA), the leading social welfare organization of Indian nationals in Kuwait has opened its second charitable KKMA Kidney Dialysis Center (KDC) in Trichur district of Kerala State.
The KKMA Kidney Center, a joint venture between Kuwait based social welfare organization of Indian nationals and Daya General Hospital in Kerala was inaugurated on Wednesday, August 14th 2007 by Dr. Mohammad Ghareeb Hatem, Corporate Relations manager of EQUATE Petrochemical Company. Dr. Hatem is also the chairman of KKMA's Indo Arab Relations Committee.
The inaugural function held in this regard at Daya was inaugurated by Therambil Ramakrishnan, member of legislative assembly and presided over by Prof. R. Bindu, city mayor of Trichur corporation. Dr. A.C. Velayuthan, managing director of Daya Hospital and Dr. V.K. Abdul Aziz, managing director of Daya Charitable trust jointly received documents of three brand new dialysis machines offered by KKMA.
The KDC Trichur is a part of KKMA's visionary project to have one KDC in every district of Kerala State, India. The first of its kind center was opened at IQRAA International Hospital and Research Center in the city of Calicut in June last year.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Sageer Trikarpur, chairman of KKMA said that joining hands with Daya General Hospital will help KKMA to help needy poor dialysis patients to have their dialysis procedures at minimal cost of Rs. 400 or less per procedure. A joint Management Supervisory Committee of KKMA and Daya will look after the day to day administration of the Center.
Akbar Siddique, vice chairman of KKMA mentioned that the third KKMA Kidney Center will be opened in Malappuram by end of this year. Shabeer Mandoly, working president of KKMA, K. Basheer, secretary KKMA, E.K. Abdulla, joint coordinator and other officials from KKMA also attended the function. Representing various organizations, K. Parameswaran, C.H. Abdul Rasheed, K.K. Valsaraj, P. Gopalan, Baby John, Dayanandan Mampally, Smt. Saseendra Viswanathan felicitated the function.
Renal Dialysis is the process of filtering and removing toxic waste products from the blood when the kidneys malfunction or fail. Patients typically receive dialysis treatment three times-a-week, each session lasting an average of 3 to 5 hours.

KDC Calicut
The first of its kind Center has been open in Calicut in the month of July 2006 in association with IQRAA International Hospital and Research Center.
KDC Trichur
A second center started functioning at Daya General Hospital in Trichur in the month of August 2007.
KDC Malappuram
The third of its kind Center has been open in Malappuram in association with Nadakkavil Hospital - Valanchery.
KDC Kankanady
The fourth of its kind Center has been open in Mangalore in association with Highlan Hospital - Kankanady.
KDC Kasaragod
The fifth of its kind Center has been open in Kasaragod in association with Care Well Hospital - Nullipady.
KDC Trivandrum
The sixth of its kind Center has been open in Trivandrum in association with Al Arif Hospital - Ambalathara.
KDC Kannur
The seventh of its kind Center has been open in Kannur in association with MM Hospital - Pappnisseri.
KDC Kottayam
The eighth of its kind Center has been open in Kottayam in association with Paret Mar Ivanios Hospital - Kottayam.
KDC Mangalore
The ninth of its kind Center has been open in Mangalore in association with St. Father Muller Hospital - Kankanady.
KDC Wayanad
The tenth of its kind Center has been open in Wayanad in association with MES Hospital - Wayanad.
KDC Kundapur
The eleventh of its kind Center has been open in Karnataka in association with Vinaya Hospital - Kundapur.
KDC Alappuzha
The twelfth of its kind Center has been open in Alappuzha in association with Al Huda Hospital - Haripad.
EDC Kannur
In 2015 KKMA has initiated establishment of an Early Detection Center in Kerala and by the grace of Almighty Allah, we have opened the first EDC in the city of Kannur in August 2016.
